The prophet Isaiah, in referring to this forgiving disposition of the Creator, wrote: "Come, let us make clear," says the Lord. "Are your sins like scarlet? They will be white as snow! They are red as crimson? Will they be like wool! Are you willing to obey? They will eat the best of the earth! "(Isaiah 1:18, 19. New Popular Version). There is no sin so serious that God does not forgive. Two serious cases, which God forgave, show how far his mercy can reach. The first one is that of a woman caught in adultery to whom Jesus offered her a new opportunity (John 8: 1-11). The second is that of a delinquent who was crucified with him, who at the last hour repented and received not only forgiveness, but the promise of eternal life (Luke 23: 36-43). We are called to forgive … receive forgiveness … An inescapable requirement to receive God's forgiveness is to forgive. If we keep resentment towards someone, we will not enjoy the peace that forgiveness brings. This is what the Lord Jesus said when, in his masterly Sermon on the Mount, he said: "For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their offenses, neither will your Father forgive your sins. "(Matthew 6:14, 15). Resentment, an obstacle to growing in the spiritual life. If forgiveness has no place in our hearts, it is difficult we can advance on the spiritual plane. To hold a grudge becomes an obstacle that does not allow to advance. Hence, there are countless Christians who remain stagnant. They do not prosper. Now, the decision to forgive is personal. Nobody can force you to do it, because after the emotion, you will feel that they deceived you by inducing you to forgive, or that there is no reason to forgive someone, and that negative emotion will be nested again. What if I find it difficult to forgive? forgive, do not fight in your forces. Ask God to help you. Only He and no one but Him can give him the strength to do so. I invite you to pray for that power in prayer. Repeat with me, in front of your computer: "Dear Lord Jesus Christ, for years I have held a grudge. And I know I have to forgive, but I do not think I have the necessary strength. I ask you to help me "Amen. I am convinced that today he took a step that will transform his existence. If He already forgot what you did, he does not have to be bringing to the present things that have already died in the past.
